The team behind SeniorDoc.org has launched a new organization, along with a Web site, with the aim to give a boost to independent optometrists business and professional standing.

Proactive Optometric Physicians (POP) is an organization dedicated to meeting the professional and economic needs of independent, private-practice O.D.s, says optometrist Paul Farkas. POPs mission is to support the interests of independent, private practitioners by helping members build their practices and provide the highest quality care for their patients.

The group offers personalized, specific and timely responses to member requests for information and advice via interaction with its consultants. Specifically, members can post a message in the POP forums, where like-minded docs and our consultants can hash out their issues, says optometrist Adam Farkas. Alternatively, members can send private messages to POPs consultants for direct answers to specific questions.

The organization also has discount advantages as a buying group for products and services used by independent private-practice O.D.s. For more, go to www.proactod.org.
