If you’re accustomed to treating ocular allergy with topical eye drops, good for you: those do quiet symptoms and help patients feel better fast. But to encourage long-term allergy relief, Ocusoft says you should also have these patients routinely cleanse their eyelids of allergens to prevent migration to the ocular surface.

To help, the company has just launched Ocusoft Lid Scrub Allergy wipes. The manufacturer says the scrub removes oil, debris, pollen and other contaminants from the eyelids; it also uses green tea extract, tea tree oil and a lipid called phytosphingosine to reduce redness, inflammation and itching of allergy eyelids. The lipid element in particular can help prevent loss of moisture from the skin, regulate epidermal cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis, and maintain healthy skin through its bactericidal and anti-inflammatory properties, an Ocusoft press release explains.

The product will be available through CVS pharmacies as well as eye care practices, with discounted pricing for doctors. Visit www.ocusoft.com for more information.
