Retinal examination is a fundamental part of the optometric evaluation. Thanks to improvements in retinal technology, eye care professionals are now able to move beyond routine assessments of the retina and advance to what I call a ‘retina care plus’ model; that is, retina care plus prevention, in order to broaden the scope of their optometric care.
