Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) has kicked off the 2008 World Sight Day challenge. Optometrists are asked to donate their exam fees on World Sight Day (October 9, 2008) to OGS, which will in turn use the funds to provide vision care, local training and infrastructure development in countries where eye care is not present or accessible.

Last year, more than $1 million was raised for projects in South Africa, East Africa and Sri Lanka. To participate this year, call 1-888-OGS-GIVE or go to www.givingsight.org.
