COVID-19 cases are on the rise once again, and many are buckling down for a long winter of social distancing and PPE.1 Those of you looking forward to a trip to Atlanta for SECO 2021, scheduled for February 24-28, will have to wait a little longer. SECO International recently announced that they are moving the annual show to April 28-May 2, 2021.

Max Raynor, OD, President of SECO International, said in a press release that the dominant sentiment from the Board of Trustees, members and key partners was a desire to reschedule the in-person event for later in the Spring. All parties involved feel the move will ensure a more successful in-person event.

“Our priority is to deliver a safe and successful meeting where we can come together to access emerging eyecare trends, explore the latest technologies, gain hands-on training, and forge new connections with the eyecare community,” Dr. Raynor said.

SECO 2021 will be an in-person event at the Georgia World Congress Center with an option for virtual attendance, according to SECO International.

Event planners are already working on infection control and prevention guidelines for the show, and the Georgia World Congress Center is committed to its stringent cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention program.

Registration will open in mid-December, and SECO International encourages attendees to visit attendseco.com for additional event details.
